If you sign up for updates here, or join the Founders in the AlloyMind app, we store your email address and consent record. We use them to send AlloyMind news and, where promised, Founder perks or beta invitations. We do not sell, rent or share your address, or use it for anything else, and you can have it deleted at any time by emailing hello@alloymind.io.
If you say yes when the game asks, the app also sends anonymous usage data, such as “a colony was founded”, through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service in the EU: no name, no email, no advertising ID and no IP address. You can change your answer at any time in the game’s Settings.
AlloyMind is made by AlloyMind Studios, a trade name of Reach Works, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42148179. Reach Works is the data controller for the purposes of the UK/EU General Data Protection Regulation. For any privacy question or request, the contact point is hello@alloymind.io.
We do not collect names, location, your device’s own hardware or advertising identifiers, or payment details, and there are no advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
The game needs no account and no sign-in. Your colonies, bots and settings are saved on your device and are not sent to us. The app contains no advertising, and it does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
On Android, your phone may back up the game’s saves to your own Google account (Android’s standard app backup), as it does for other apps; this goes to Google under your account’s settings, not to us. You can turn it off in your phone’s backup settings.
Usage data. The game asks once, on the title screen, whether it may count. Until you say yes, nothing is sent. (If you installed the very first version, 1.0.0, and counting was already on, it stays on, as that version told you; you can switch it off in Settings.) So we can see how the game is played and where it needs work, the app reports a few moments to TelemetryDeck: the game being installed and opened, a colony founded, the tutorial finished or skipped, the full-game offer shown, full-game access gained, restored or ended, a bot sent exploring, a puzzle solved, the Ark launched, and your answer to notifications. Each report carries at most one word about the moment (for example the difficulty you chose), the time, the game’s version and build, and your device’s system and its version (for example “iOS 18.1” or “Android 16”). To count players and sessions without knowing who anyone is, the app makes a random ID when it is first installed and a new random ID for each session; the install ID is scrambled (hashed) on your device before it is sent, and TelemetryDeck scrambles it again when it arrives, so neither we nor TelemetryDeck can connect it to you or your device. No name, email, advertising identifier, location or colony contents is sent, and TelemetryDeck does not keep IP addresses. You can turn this off at any time in Settings (“Usage counts”); the app then sends nothing and forgets its install ID.
Apple Ads. If you installed the game on iPhone or iPad after tapping an ad on the App Store, Apple can tell the game which ad campaign it came from. The game asks Apple once, using a one-time code from your device that expires after 24 hours. Apple answers with its own campaign, ad group and keyword numbers, which are added to the install and full-game reports above so we can see which ads bring players. These numbers say nothing about who you are. This happens only if usage counts are on, and it isn’t tracking: the game never reads your advertising identifier and shows no tracking prompt. Apple handles its side under its own privacy policy.
Your email. The only personal data the app can send us is the email address you give when you join the Founders (on the title screen or in Settings; earlier test builds had it on the Founder’s Kit screen), and only once you have confirmed you are 16 or older and ticked “Email me AlloyMind news”. It then goes to the Founders form in Netlify Forms, below. Leave the box unticked and nothing is sent.
Notifications, if you turn them on, are scheduled by the game on your device; nothing about them is sent to us, apart from your yes or no in the usage data. The in-game “Report a problem” form lets you review and edit a report before you choose to send it. The next section explains what it includes.
The Android version from itch.io checks once a day whether a newer version is out, by reading a small file on alloymind.io; it sends nothing about you.
When you send us a report, in the app (Settings → Report a problem) or on our support page, it contains what you wrote and chose in the form and any screenshots you added. From the app it also carries a screenshot taken when you opened the report (you can remove it), the game’s recent activity log (game events only; anything that looks like an email address is removed), your device model, its system version (iOS or Android) and the game version, and a summary of your colony (turn, bots, scrap). Your email address is optional and used only to reply. Nothing is sent until you tap Send. Reports are stored by Netlify Forms and emailed to us.
We use reports only to answer you and to fix the game. We keep them for up to 12 months after the issue is closed, then delete them; ask us and we delete yours sooner.
Buying the full game. Purchases are handled by the store you buy from: the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. The store tells the game only that the full game was bought (or refunded), so the game can unlock it. Apple and Google process your purchase as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.
Your email for news: consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given by ticking the box on the website form or the news box in the app. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — email us and we delete your record. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before it.
Support requests: to answer the request you make (Article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in fixing the game (Article 6(1)(f)).
Usage data: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by saying yes to the game’s question and can withdraw at any time in Settings (“Usage counts”). For the earliest installs (version 1.0.0) that were already counting, our legitimate interest in understanding how the game is played (Article 6(1)(f)); you can switch it off in Settings whenever you like.
This site is hosted on Netlify. Website and in-app news sign-ups are stored by Netlify Forms on Netlify’s infrastructure in the United States. Netlify acts as our processor under its Data Processing Addendum, which relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers out of the EEA and the UK.
Your sign-up is then passed to Brevo SAS (Paris, France), which sends our emails under its data processing agreement. Brevo first emails you a link to confirm your address; if you don’t click it, you are not added to the list. Brevo handles unsubscribes from every email we send.
Support reports are stored by Netlify Forms in the same way.
The app’s usage data is processed by TelemetryDeck GmbH (Augsburg, Germany) on servers in the Netherlands and Germany, under its data processing agreement.
Website update emails: until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete them, or we stop the update list. Earlier beta waitlist emails are deleted when that invitation programme ends or on request. Founders list emails from the app: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Every email we send says how to unsubscribe. Usage data identifies no one; we keep it for as long as it helps us develop the game.
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and you may object to processing or withdraw consent. Email hello@alloymind.io and we will act within 30 days, free of charge. If you are in the EEA or UK and are unhappy with the outcome, you may complain to your national data protection authority. Because the usage data cannot be linked to you, we cannot find, show or delete “your” usage data; switching it off in Settings stops any more being sent.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know what personal information we hold, to have it deleted, and to correct it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Use the same email address to make a request.
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Netlify may process standard server request logs for security and abuse prevention.
The trailer on the front page is served from this website, like the rest of the page; nothing is loaded from YouTube or any other video service.
The usage data identifies no one, so it works the same way for everyone. On Google Play, AlloyMind is listed for players aged 13 and over; it is not directed at children under 13. Website updates and the in-app Founders sign-up are for people aged 16 or older (both ask you to confirm it), and we ask that younger players not submit an email address. If we learn that we hold one, we delete it. Anyone can ask for help or send a report; the email field there is optional, and we ask younger players to leave it empty.
If this notice changes materially, we will update the date above and, where the change affects how we use your email address, tell you by email before it takes effect.
